Create sign up forms to capture email/sms & send a welcome email.

You can create as many signup forms as you need.&nbsp;

For each form you can design the form elements, welcome email, unsubscribe email and the code to place on your site. 

Each form can be tagged to attribute signups from different landing pages and you can later segment by these tags in campaigns.

Additional settings include specifying different landing page on signup and an option to confirm signup via email (double opt-in).

Follow the steps to create a signup form for your site.

To start, click Tools-&gt;Signup forms from the menu

Name the form and color style to match your site.

Click into the design area and add any other form elements you might need. A good example would be including SMS capture and privacy controls like Do not track.&nbsp;

Note: The Form ID is a unique identifer for your form &amp;&nbsp; can be used in API calls or Webhooks

Form elements and style

Use the first option when you need the subscriber to confirm the signup.&nbsp; It will send the subscriber an email with a link to confirm the subscription.&nbsp; And you&nbsp; can set up the number of reminders sent, keep this to 3 or less.

Specify the subscriber source. Often you would specify the landing page name so you know where this subscriber came from. It is mapped to Importname&nbsp;on the subscriber record, so you can later segment by this value in campaigns.

Specify tags for the subscriber. Like source, you can use this to identify where this subscriber came from but you can specify multiple tags. This is very useful later on when sending campaigns that use tags as a segment.

Use&nbsp; the options Send to this page to direct the subscriber to a landing page of your choice or one of our stock landing pages.

Settings

This is the first email the subscriber will receive on signup. Use the tools to design the email,&nbsp; a simpler version of the main email designer. 

There is an option to paste HTML code if that's a preference; click &lt;&gt; and paste your code.

Design the welcome email

When a subscriber unsubscribes, you can send this confirm unsubscribe email.

It's a good idea to include an option to resubscribe.

For GDPR purposes this email is important as it confirms the unsubscribe process.

Should the subscriber later issue a SAR (Subject Access Request) the subscriber dashboard will provide you with proof that this was carried out as requested.

Note: All details from the contact record are available eg {firstname}

Design the unsubscribe email.

Use this step to embed the form on your website.

There are 4 types of embed.

Note: For&nbsp; the popups you can set the number of days for the popup to reshow.

Get the code

Click Finish to save your form and close the wizard.

After you include the code on your page, make sure to test it with a new email address.&nbsp; Use something like 1@domain.com to confirm it's adding then test with a real email address to confirm the sending process.

You should see the signups show up on the dashboard right away.

PS You can change the form at anytime (use the pencil icon)

PS Now would be a good time to setup a welcome series so the subscriber receives a series of emails over time. Use the Flows menu option start this process.
